My Fantastic New Purchase

I bought nested dolls this week from Mister Hope, an illustrator whose work I instantly fell in love with at Thought Bubble in November last year.

When I saw he was painting these dolls last week I knew I wanted them and eagerly waited for them to be posted in his Etsy shop.

If you like these nesting monsters as much as I do then you should check out Mister Hope’s website and have a look through his gallery.

A Little bit of Colour

I coloured in a few of my tags a couple of months ago and have been meaning to show you them on here since then. My laptop was too old to allow me to do anything in Photoshop in less than an hour though so I couldn’t find the time to sit down and post them.

New laptop though so here they are!

Pictoplasma Berlin 2011

At the start of April (6-10th to be precise), I attended the Pictoplasma Festival in Berlin with Mark Adamson and Will Adams.  The festival consisted of a very densely packed 4 days with a character walk and lectures from 25 illustrators, artists and people involved in character design in one way or another.

Things to Come

I’ve been drawing lately but not actually posting it online because I’ve been pretty busy lately.

I had the idea a couple of months ago to start drawing on luggage tags and leaving them in various places.  I bought the tags but didn’t actually get around to drawing on them until Saturday, then didn’t want to leave them anywhere because I was pretty happy with them.

Instead of losing these drawings, I have scanned them and will work on making digital copies in the next week or so.  For now, here are my scans:

Squiddles Exhibition

So on Saturday, Mark and I went down to the Squiddles Exhibition at Walrus Bar in Manchester.  The exhibition was organised by Matt Daniels (AKA Stickypop) in memory of his girlfriend who sadly passed away in July.
As Mark and I are both big fans of Tado, we were eager to get our hands on the prints that they had created for this exhibition.

I ended up buying 3 prints in total by Tado, Aaron Miller and JamFactory; all of whom are designers/illustrators I’ve been following lately and drooling over their work a little.  I’m very happy to have been able to buy some of their prints!
